Thread OP
Oxfordshire
My Laurel hedge is dying. It has very yellow and brown leaves and new growth turns yellow and brown too. Parts of the bark are red. A friend thought it might have a bark disease along with leave disease. It is spreading along the hedge. I have treated it with fungus clear ultra but no change. Think my only option is to have it all pulled out. Do you have any suggestions?? Please help!

Welcome!

Without photos, it's just a guess about what might be affecting your hedge. Could it be stress from the recent heat and droughty conditions? Or was your area not much affected?

What sort of laurel is your hedge? If it is Cherry Laurel (Prunus laurocerasus), it might be a good idea to e-mail photos of your plants to [email protected] in case it is a fairly recent (to the UK) bacterial infection:

Good luck,
