As a comment about Butterfly Bush (Buddleja davidii), plantladylin wrote:

Butterfly Bush (Buddleja davidii) is a deciduous, perennial shrub growing to 6' in height and to 15' wide, with arching branches and clusters of blooms that form a weeping habit when the bush is full. Buddleja is drought tolerant once established and prefers a full to partial sun location. Flowers come in various shades of red, pink, purple, and white and attract a wide range of butterflies to the garden.

I purchased the Butterfly bush a long long time ago, it grew too big for my front yard in front of my door so I moved it to my back yard, it survived and grew really big, and it was beautiful and fragrant, but then I noticed that more butterfly bushes appeared all over the place, even in the front yard where it used to be. So I decided I did not want them any longer, and I pulled the huge one and also each one whenever I see new ones growing. Then I saw an article online that the butterfly bush does not really help butterflies in the USA, since none of the US caterpillars can eat the leaves of the butterfly bush, so when the butterflies lay their eggs on the butterfly bush leaf and they hatch, they will die.
