That wasn't actually my point...
I was arguing the supposed poisonous aspect.... As you will discover when you read the link to "eat the weeds".
I have cats, they eat the cherry tomatoes, but I haven't observed them to take interest in the nightshade berries... But... I think the songbirds eat them.

If I had just one black nightshade plant, I'd leave it be.
If I had a patch of black nightshade, I'd probably thin them...
They're not bad plants...
At my house, I keep some around as host plants for hawk moths.
