I planted Louise Mercer in a rough location last Spring, stony and steep. She hung in there, barely, with four teeny fans in October. This April she only had three teeny fans. I'm sure she would appreciate being somewhere else but I need something to hold down that corner! I'll see what happens this summer…

I planted Louise Mercer in 2009. It did very well, but I needed the space. In 2016 I transplanted it to bank I seldom see once the tall grasses grow up at the top of it. I will try to remember to check on Louise this summer

2022 …Poor Louise Mercer! What a struggle she's had! Last October she had 4 tiny fans. By April she was at 3. She had one bloom this summer and by October, was down to 2 fans. You have to hand it to her, she's putting up a fight!

2023, no bloom this summer. She is sitting at two fans. She is on a terrible steep rocky corner, poor thing.
