Hi all,

During one of my walking trips, I have seen a plant having pearl like fruits on it. It has a hard shell and a hollow point on top of it. In Google I could not make an exact match. The ones I have discovered are having soft shells.
What is your opinion about this plant? What could it be?

This plant looks kind of artificial... are you certain this is a real plant?

I can see a seam in photo #5.

Excellent pics of the green railings.
It would really help if you could take clear pics to show the plant.
Does it have leaves?
Looks like beads stuck on a stick.

Yes, there seems to be a seam - this must be artificial.

No question. Pix 4, 5 & 6 are entirely obvious. I can never tell if the people who post pictures of plastic plants truly think they're real or are simply trying to spoof us.

Hi all,

First of all, thank you for all your comments. I could not enter the building since it was a private one. That's why I had to take the shots behind the railings. Sorry for this.
After reading all the comments, my thoughts about that the plant could be artificial is: Could be possible, but I see that the fruits (or whatever they are) are so arbitrary distributed. On an artificial product, I believe that all the fruits would be positioned mostly in front of our eyes. I see also some almost touching the ground. (See the last pic I have uploaded). In addition to that, I see different sizes and color variations of these fruits. Would an artificial product embody such color and size variations?
About the seam; looks to me more like a thick spider web.
I will try to visit that street this week again and try to find someone to ask about it. If this is something artificial, I will inform you as well. If this is not artificial,
I am curious what it is :)
Thank you all for your considerations.

Some artificial plants do look very real.

I have no idea what it could be, but isn't there a snowberry bush that resembles this?

Next time put the phone lens/camera lens between the railings to try and get clear pics of the mystery plant/object.
Keep us posted.

Artificial.
Look at the broken 'fruit' and it is pretty clear...

In pic 9, there is twine or rope holding the manufactured stems with the white "berries." In a couple of the pics, you can see cracked and broken berries. Most of the leaves look real, that are in focus.

@Porkpal I don't remember. What are popits?

I don't think the leaves in the picture go with the berries. If you look at the base of the plant, it looks like there is a grey-colored pipe cleaner wrapped around to hold the berry stem to the plant with leaves.

@purpleinopp popits were plastic beads that could be popped together to form necklaces etc (in the '60s ?)

No - snowberries don't have seams and holes (I have seen snowberries before).

Oh, I know they don't have seams and holes. I was just suggesting the possibility that the artificial plant may resemble a snowberry.

Oh, I thought that you were thinking it was an actual snowberry. Sorry about that.
