Has anyone ever ordered from her? Some beautiful plants at decent prices. What makes it questionable is the varieties are almost all advertised as itohs but I have never heardof these itohs. Some pics are recognizeable blooms but called something different. She is in Lithuania. Any information?

If you are on Facebook there have been a few posts about Etsy peony sellers in the Peony Lovers and Enthusiasts group. Not very good results.

Let us know if you buy some and share pix of what you get if you don't mind.

Trying to grow peonies in pots
From the reviews on Etsy I would say they are shipping peonies or itoh correctly. I mean, at least they are not mailing potatoes for their peony orders.

But there are some pictures that don't look "real" to me. I have never seen itoh with such beautiful flowers like what they are shown in the picture, and the peony name cannot be found elsewhere except from that seller.

for example: PEONY "LADY ALICE", only they are selling peony with such name, and the picture looks pretty much like a Chinese/Japanese tree peony.

The seller is new on Etsy, so the reviews are mostly about the size of the root, not about if the flowers come out are the same as the pictures they provided.

One of the posts on FACEBOOK showed herbaceous foliage that was supposed to be an Itoh. Another post said that the seller closed her shop (after bad reviews). Could be they opened a new shop up under this new name…..

I think these peonies are not Itohs, they are tree peonies. With that said I took a risk yesterday and bought 3, but I put on a separate credit card that I can close easily. My biggest worry is that card get stolen and use somewhere later, not just losing $100. But this is my first time buying anything on Etsy or EBay, so I'm technically a newbie. But the roots from the reviewers look decent. I will come back and tell you all about it. My saying "I'm not buying anymore tree peonies" went out the window, but to be honest, I was intrigued that they were itohs, now I just realized they are not. #callmerisktaker
I bought Pearl, Kensington, and Fantasy.

I think It is better not to buy from there. too many mislabeled cultivars.
And they use photos of tree peonies for Itohs.

Ok, here is a way to avoid BS sellers... This is for Windows users.

1. Use the Snipping Tool to clip the image - then put it on the clipboard.
2. Go to https://tineye.com/
3. Paste the image
4. Evaluate the results

For seller Peonyladyshop, ITOH PEONY "FANTAZY" uses an image from a garden.org member. Here is the link:

So FANTAZY is Cora Louise - and that is a best case scenario.

Anyhow, I've been using this tool to filter bogus / lazy ebay sellers. I have no time for someone that can't take their own pictures.

Definitely tree peony. Just look at the stem. Hana Kisoi or something similar. Interestingly, the roots look like TP roots.

Interesting, LG. Thanks for the other information from all you guys. I ordered last fall/winter. It took over 6 weeks to get the roots. I started to not even open the box. The two roots were well packaged, had no mold, and the eyes had even sprouted. I got them in the ground immediately and they have grown well. They look exactly like the picture. What has grown for me are two herbaceous peonies. I think she is using false pictures and selling these herbaceous hybrid roots and itoh/intersectional roots. Lots of people get the two confused. But itohs can fetch a higher price. I will post pics next spring of what grows. It is not good that she is using tree peony pictures, some from our own forum.

Is that against Etsy policies at all, false advertising. This is my first and I thought worst comes worst that they are herbaceous peonies. So my thought is that I donated my money to a Latvian charity name PeonyShopLady.

Thanks for the tool, Top! I will use it for sure!
I would not buy form this lady, all look fake. I bought a few peonies from GardensBreeze on Etsy, all roots were great and true to name. I went to the shop and saw nothing for sale. She might have something in the fall if someone is interested.

That seller has made a fortune off of selling mis-id'ed roots, some of the roots I've seen have been little bits of root crown that probably won't grow. Anyone still thinking of buying from there please don't, it's a scammer.

Family bought 2 on ebay from Latvia, that came in looking good, I had taken photos of the roots but later deleted them thinking I could not tell what type of peony they really were from the photos, one was supposed to be an Itoh named Hatchi and an Herbaceous named Martha, the seller name was Valesil_0.
I can post pictures of the leaves in an update but both are growing healthy in pots, they came in already sprouted.

This was labeled Herbaceous Martha

My roots from Latvia have arrived, they all have some kind of eyes, not sure 3-5 as advertised, I'm soaking them right now and will plant them in Grobag. I don't have a clue whether they are Itoh or herbaceous.
