Thread OP

I live in Austin, so it's definitely been very hot and sunny here lately. I can't figure out whether my roses look like this because of the heat, or if it's mosaic virus?

Any help would be appreciated!

is this potted or in the ground? Looks a little like iron deficiency to me, I don't know much about roses specifically though. If it's in a planter it will need supplemented w alot of nutrients

Thanks for the quick response! It's in the ground but we moved to this house 6+ months ago and I'm not sure how the soil was treated beforehand. When I planted it, I used rose-specific fertilizer / soil but it's possible that it's been washed away over time?

Is it a newly built house? If so there may be masonry fragments/dust in the soil making it too alkaline for iron uptake.

As a fellow Texan with very alkaline soil, that looks like chlorosis (iron deficiency) to me. Rather than fertilizer, what you want is chelated iron. You can get a jar on Amazon.
