Maybe a type of wild Geranium called Herb Robert. Have you seen seedpods? They are very distinctive - they look like tiny swords.

My eyesight isn't cooperating this afternoon and I can't see the bloom clearly but the leaves and habit remind me of Herb Robert (Geranium robertianum)

For comparison, there are also some good close images of Herb Robert leaves, flowers, etc. on this page: https://www.luontoportti.com/s...

Not sure about seed pods. I know very little about plants. Here is a photo of the taproot.

That's not the same plant.

Whoa, now that's a root! I read that Herb Robert has a many branched tap root system but I haven't found any photos that look quite like that photo of your plants root! I hope someone knows what Geranium robertianum roots look like and can verify or not.

Do the leaves have a malodorus smell when crushed? The leaves of Herb Robert do not have a pleasant aroma.

I would describe Herb Robert's roots as shallow and fragile. Its a very easy plant to pull. But the 2nd and 3rd photo are not the same plant as in Photo #1.

Can you get a closer photo of the blooms on the first plant in question? It
may not be Herb Robert. Check out Red-Stemmed Filaree (Erodium cicutarium) for comparison. Here are a couple of photos from our database:

I'll move this over to the Plant ID Forum where it will get more views and hopefully someone will recognize it for an exact ID.

I wonder if the different plant with the thick tap root may be a type of "Kochia" (Bassia) like Forage Kochia (Bassia prostrata) which has a thick taproot and is considered a noxious weed in some areas.

That's all the same plant. In my backyard they very by size. The smaller one tend to have the flowers while the larger ones don't seem to flower. This is my backyard
