I live in a Mews, I mile from the sea, we have a large car parking area, we have three large pots, which cannot be moved, situated at the top of the drive in full sun, open to the wind, we have tried various pretty plants which have since died! I now think that perhaps a small conifer type may be better, could you advise which is most suitable to survive with minimum attention. The aim is to enhance the area. Many thanks

Dwarf Mugo Pines do great here in the windy, sunny desert but, they do need regular water.

I would not think a conifer would do well in a container in an exposed location, but maybe someone with more experience will correct me.
