Last week I drove down over the southern PA border, about 20 miles away, into northern Delaware and visited the Brandywine Creek State Park. Nice big park of climax forest of oak, hickory, beech, tuliptree, and such plus wide open fields of turf, pasture, and meadow in an area that is still the Appalachian Piedmont Region with big hills and low mountain ridges. I took shots of some Redbud & American Flowering Dogwood trees in bloom and two Carolina Silverbell trees with their white bell-like flowers; plus Sassafras in yellow bloom.
