The M. stellata 'Royal Star' and M. stellata 'Waterlily' were, according to their plant tags, planted in the early 1970s. At the time of this 'shot' (a photomerge), they were approaching fifty years of age, and still in seeming magnificent health. They are growing in what is now considered plant zone 6a, but when planted were probably in zone 5 😉
