we came from here
The thread "Our Orchid blooms in September 2019" in Orchids forum

It is October 1. and although it still feels like Summer around here, Fall is around the corner.
Let me start the month with my Vanda Sirilak x Kultana which doesn't seem registered.

I was hoping to see all 3 spikes open at the same time on the Habenaria medusa, but the earliest blooms are done already.

The Habenaria reminds me of a flock of cranes in flight! So beautiful.
Dear me, another month, another page in our lives! Okay Bill, dial it back a bit! Rolling on the floor laughing

Well my 5 flowers have opened on Catasetum Melana Davison. This is a compact growing hybrid of Catasetum Penang X Catasetum denticulatum. Flowers are on a single bulb plant with one tiny backbulb. Flowers measure a full 4 centimeters.
They feature a deep ivory white lip , white sepals and petals with kind of burgundy brown spots and blotches. Lip has 'dentations' or "little teeth" along the margin.
The lips of Catasetums often have this 'sunken center' and in this instance, I love the bright golden dot! It serves as a gorgeous contrast kind of directing the pollinator where to go. Notice the crossing "horns" in the upper center of the lip. This is another clue that tells you that there is Catasetum species in the background

Great start to the month! Ursula, I love that Vanda, and of course the Medusa!
Bill, very interesting Catasetum! I was surprised that SVO didn't have any at the show this time. I looked closely, as they usually hang them up out of the reach of the man handlers.
Lindsey, lots of nice blooms at your place!
Daisy, Love that Cyrtotchis! Lovey dubby

Daisy, the Cyrtorchis is very different! Thumbs up I always think the Bulbo EA 'Buckleberry' is the best of this type of Bulbos. Yours looks great, nice plant too!

It could be because Dendrobium schuetzei in the background.
Thumb of 2019-10-03/BigBill/9cf96a

These are just a couple of hybrids with schuetzei in the background, typically as a parent.

I can't find any version/combo of this on RHS. Is the name of Nishi correct?

Prahbi, you have gotten your labels and names mixed up.
The cross you gave us above is not completely correct. The hybrid is Dendrobium Silver Bells X Dendrobium sanderae, not 'sanders'! My computer wanted to autocorrect to sanders instead of sanderae! Dendrobium sanderae is a valid species Dendrobium, Dendrobium sanders is not!
The registered name of that cross is Dendrobium Lai's Angel. It is an all white flower with a green column and deep rose blush in the throat of the lip.
But this is just one small example of why we need to be exact in our labeling. One or two different letters can make a huge difference!!

Did some research about this orchid i.e. Den Nishi in orchid roots, there are no crosses like Den.Nishi, did not find any straight Den,Nishi. There are no which are not close to my plant with flower.

This Hybrid has flowered for me many times in the past.
