My Gerbera Daisies have been blooming beautifully, but now the buds that are coming in seem to have no petals .... see attached photo. I have not changed anything in terms of location and watering, plus using Miracle Gro as the fertilizer.
The plants were purchased this spring from a reputable garden store.
I was hoping to transplant them into the ground this winter if they are healthy ... although I don't know when would be the best time ... and if they are healthy enough based on the change of the blooms.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

In my experience, every plant that blooms, will at some point produce some wonky flowers. I wouldn't worry if it's just those two. If it continues, then it may be a disease of some variety.
Maybe we should get a second opinion...

Dump your plant out of the pot gently and take a look at the roots. If its full of roots with no room to grow, then you may want to transplant into a larger growing container with wholes on the bottom.

If you want to plant your Gerbera Daisy in the outside garden, then make sure to do it in the spring, when it's warm enough. You need to do it after all danger of FROSTS have passed. These plants cannot tolerate frost well, so in order to make them thrive, you need to plant them only when outside temperatures are warm enough. Gerbera Daisies are so pretty, I just love them.
NOT A EXPERT! Just a grow worm! I never met a plant I didn’t love.✌

Thank you!
To: CrazedHoosier ... Sadly, it seems all the new flower buds are coming in without petals Sighing!
To: OneEyeLuke ... They are already in a very large pot with great drainage. How would you go about over-wintering the plants as they are in a very large pot on my front porch? There may not be much I can do to protect them under the circumstances until Spring 2020. Suggestions?

I have the same issue. Two daisies, ten flowers and all seem to have the same issue. Good stem length, repeat blooms but the flowers are a major disappointment.
