I have a fiddle fig tree that I've had for about 3 months. My new growth leaves just fall off and I just had a large leaf yellow and fall off. I also have a large yellow mushroom growing off the top of the soil. I water 2 cups once a week with fiddle fig plant food. What am I doing wrong?!

A mushroom growing in your soil, probably means it is too moist. 2 cups once a week should be fine, so I'm guessing your pot either doesn't have drainage holes, you have a bad arrangement of soil, or you aren't giving it enough light. Also, fiddle leaf figs don't need weekly fertilization, and the fact the only water it gets is mixed with fertilizer, makes it that much worse. Please hold for @WillC to be with you. Until then, don't take any drastic measures like moving the plant, repotting, or watering even more. Help is on the way!
Maybe we should get a second opinion...

Thanks, CH!

Please post a photo of your FLF and its pot so we can see what you have and help with what may need to be done.

Unless your tree is very small, 2 cups of water per week is not enough. I agree with CrazedHoosier that fertilizing is a bad idea.

Please describe the repotting that I assume you did.

I repotted the fiddle fig by loosening the root end and adding it into my pot with Miracle Grow potting soil.

It would have been better (and easier) if you have simply double-potted the nursery pot inside the white planter. You will have to be careful not to inadvertently overwater now.

The mushrooms were introduced with the non-sterile potting soil that you used. This is a common problem with Miracle-Gro soils.

Remove any soil you added to the top of the original rootball. That may eliminate much of the mushroom problem and will allow the soil to dry out more readily.

Then when the surface of the remaining soil feels dry to the touch, give it enough water so that the top surface gets dry again in about a week.

Hello everyone!
Got my first fiddle plant 3 weeks ago, not in the best condition.
Watered it once, was keeping it in the sunny area, put a humidifier in the room and also was spraying the leaves every day.
So far the small the small leave fell off without drying out, there is a new one light green but with a spot on it already.
Maybe ya'll can help me identify what's wrong.
