Susan - the reason it rejected your proposal is that there needs to be an existing entry for the genus in the database already. There aren't any Burrageara hybrids in the database, so the system would have told you post here (which you've done
) and ask for it to be added.
To complicate matters, Orchid species have undergone considerable reclassification over the past decade or so and some hybrid genera (such as Burrageara) are no longer the currently accepted name. I always check the RHS Orchid Register to confirm the current genus name for hybrids.
I've manually added the entry for the Orchid here:
Orchid (Oncidopsis Francine 'Roseglow')
Also, for future reference, only the genus goes in the botanical name field when adding Orchid hybrids. Depending on whether it's just the grex or a named clone determines how the cultivar, trade name and series are used (non-standard Orchid naming conflicting with the database structure again). The easiest option is to put the name in the cultivar field and then I will tweak it as necessary when approving the proposal.
