I was out today snooping through my orchids looking for new blooms forming and found some other cool stuff. Lots of my plants are putting out new growth.
I love to see the new fronds, leaves and roots unfolding, unfurling and coming out! I know then I am adequately fulfilling my job as plant mom.
New leaf on Anthurium cupulispathum. Has the pinkish/reddish bronzy coloration that many anthuria exhibit on new growth but these are so sculptural
another really cool thing about this pant is that the new roots are a bright pink with bright yellow tips
New frond emerging on a variegated Rhapis excelsa palm...the new growth is always a brighter green/yellow variegation than older growth
New pinky-yellow leaf on Philodendron erubescens 'Golden'
and a slightly older leaf that has not turned completely greenish yet
New growth on my Costus vargasii 'Raspberry Yogurt'. Such a neat plant, the leaf petioles and a bright blood red and the stem almost resembles the Buddha Belly costus but is pink.
Brilliant red/maroon leaf on this Philodendron...I got this as a trade and it was called (by the trader) King of Spades. I don;t know if that is its true name. But I love its new leaves when they come out
