Essentially occurring throughout the southeast US in meadows and open woods, Downy Coreopsis grows 3 to 4 feet tall. It has deep kelly green leaves and bright golden-yellow flowers all summer. It is very similar to Coreopsis lanceolata and also tends to be short lived. It is a good plant for naturalizing in a sunny place.
