This is a male cultivar, so it only bears staminate flowers with stamens, so it bears no black fruit. It is used to provide pollen for companion female plants and cultivars. However, It is a compact, rounded form with dark foliage within the species that looks good and can be used just as is if one does not care about the black fruit that is good for birds and that is a nice effect. This cultivar was discovered in the nursery fields of Lake County Nursery in Perry, Ohio. Like other Inkberry Holly, it needs moist to draining wet soil, clay to sandy, that is acid from very acid of pH 4.5 to 6.5 as best, but it adapts up to pH 7.0.
