This is a Type 1 pollinator and requires a Type 2 pollinator for nut production.
It is an Alabama seedling from Butler County.
Averages 56 nuts per pound. Average 50% kernel. Gafford sports excellent scab resistance as well as being resistant to foliage pests. The Alabama Pecan Growers Association claims it is one of the most pest-free cultivars they have ever evaluated. As the yields have been deemed good to excessive, to continue quality and reduce alternate crop bearing in commercial operations, crop thinning will be required.
