    Beets, in general, are one of the healthiest vegetables to grow and contain powerful antioxidants.. They are a good source of betaine, which, according to WebMD, has been shown to help minimize fat deposits in the liver.

    Sow seeds 1/2" deep, 3-4 seeds per inch. Transplant out 3" apart in rows 12-18" apart.
