"Paeonia 'Canary Brilliants', (3-SD-Y) Itoh Hybrid Peony, (Anderson, R.F., 1999), USDA Hardiness Zone 4, Medium height, semi-double, yellow petals, midseason bloomer, Michigan Bloom Month 5-6.

Apparently, the name of the peony comes from the fact that some blooms remain light yellow while others become somewhat brilliant in color. Bred by Roger F. Anderson, Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin who introduced some 50 or so named peony hybrids. He is a especially known for his intersectional hybrid peonies. In 2013, Swenson Gardens purchased Anderson's last generation of seedlings and are introducing new Itoh hybrids in 2018."
