This is a Type 2 pollinator & requires a Type 1 pollinator for nut production.
Averages 60 nuts per pound. Averages 53% kernel.
Amling is not recommended for commercial pecan orchards as it has inconsistent and low yields. It therefore would not be profitable for the commercial grower.
However, Amling is one of the prettiest pecan trees for home use. It has good vigor and beautiful foliage. Because Amling does not overbear, it ensures quality and less stress for the home yard. Excellent scab resistance. Nut quality is very good and the nuts ripen in late season.
