This species is from the Soviet Cental Asia where it grows on bare, rocky hillsides. It requires cold winters and dry summers. The bulbs disappeared after two years but I had it in a terracotta pot, it might do well in a dry place I have under an Oak tree where it would get a reasonable amount of light and sun when we have it. So lovely I think it's worth another try!
