Cylindrical cactus from southern Baja California with a hooked central spine and pink/cream/yellow flowers. May grow up to 12 inches high and 2 inches in diameter, clumping with age. Axils have wool and bristles. Areoles have 1-4 central spines and 9-15 radial spines. Found in the cape area of Baja California Sur. Looks a bit like M. dioica, a species found further north on the peninsula, into California, but dioica does not tend to grow quite so tall.
