Early maturing variety that performed exceptionally well this spring. Tubers are uniform and well shaped (more turnip shaped than more modern varieties). Average sweetness, exceptional tenderness. An excellent table beet. I had seen it in English catalogs for years but finally found a US vendor. It is an OP and its main attraction is that it is mono germ. ( single seed) Really makes planting a breeze and eliminates the need for thinning.
