If I could only grow one Allium, this would be it. It usually blooms 3 weeks, which is 3 times longer than 'Purple Sensation' in my northern garden. The flowers are sterile and the flower head just keeps on expanding during bloom. For such a large flowering Allium, the foliage is rather small and tidy. To keep up the huge size of the flower heads (and the bulb) 'Globemaster' requires frequent division in my garden.
