Main effect: Red Basil has an established spasmolytic and carminatory effect.
Red Basil is an annual herb with a characteristic smell. The stem is upright, four-pointed, 20-40 (80) cm high, from the base very branched. The opposing leaves are on long stems, ovate or oblong, whole or jagged. The fruit of basil is dry. Basil blooms from June to August.
Spreading: Basil is grown in gardens all over Bulgaria. It comes from tropical and subtropical Asia.

Mint is used in the treatment of stomach pain and chest pain (as tea). The strong, sharp flavor and aroma of mint is sometimes used as a mild decongestant for diseases like a cold. Mint tea is a strong diuretic.

Mint is used as an antipruritic (relieves pruritus), especially when treating insect bites (often along with camphor). Menthol oil helps against nausea and flatulence (gas in the intestine).

Perennial herbaceous plant with a bony, usually creeping branching rhizome. The stems are upright, 30-60 (90) cm high, four-legged, branched. Leaves opposite to short stems, oblong or oblong ovate, top green, bottom pale green. Single and bipolar flowers in the bristles of large overlapping dark-purple bracts collected in elongated classes forming crowned branches at the branches. Twill, twill-purple to light-purple, less common white. Fruit dry, falling into 4 nuts. Blooms June-August (September).
Grows out of bushes, thin forests and forest meadows. Spread across the country (Bulgaria), from the plains up to 2000 m above sea level. The herb is found throughout Europe.
Main action - Expectorant, stimulating digestion. Removes cramps in stomach and intestine pains and in flatulence. The herb also has a nervous appetite.

The thyme herb is a semi-shrub, forming concave or loose tufts, high up to 10 (30) cm. The stems from the base are branched four-armed. Leaves opposite to short handles or squirrels, elliptical ovoid or oblong to linear, with punctuated glands, nude or fibrous, on the edge predominantly at baseline long-lasting. The flowers of the thyme are pink or red, gathered in bold headstones on the tops of the twigs. The crown is two-sided, the lower lip is deeply triple. Fruit dry, falling into 4 nuts. Typically, the leaves and the top of the stem with the colors are glandular-fibrous. The herb blooms June - September.
Spreading - Thyme grows on dry, rocky and hot spots, pastures and pastures. Spread across the country (Bulgaria) up to 2000 m above sea level. Meet across Europe.

The leaves are adjacent, linear to oval lanceolate or ovate. Petals 5, along the edge with black dotted glands, in the upper half with black and reddish (dotted and linear) glands. Fruit egg-shaped 3-socket multi-seed pod. Blooms May - August.
Main action - Regenerative, anti-inflammatory, used against ulcerative disease, depression, eczema (topical application), periodic emotional disorder, melancholic conditions, anxiety, symptoms of smoking cessation, mouth rash, herpes.

Garden savory, or in Bulgarian градинска чубрица, is an annual herb. The stem is straight, 30-45 cm high, four-sided, branched from the base. The opposing leaves are lanceolate to linear. The fruit of savory is dry. Summer savory blooms from June to August.
Summer savory is used against flatulence, and has spasmolytic, bactericidal, astringent, and hypotensive effects.
Garden savory is grown widely in gardens as a spice and remedy. In addition to growing in Bulgaria, it is found in southern Europe and the Mediterranean.

Galium album is widespread over much of Europe, being native to a large region from Britain to Morocco, east to Turkey and Western Siberia. It is naturalized in Ireland, Scandinavia, Greenland and South Australia.It is found in pastures, grassy banks, etc., especially on dry calcareous soils. In Britain G. album is local in lowland England, rare in the north and very rare in Scotland.

Four subspecies are currently (May 2014) recognized:

Galium album subsp. album - most of the range of the species
Galium album subsp. prusense (K.Koch) Ehrend. & Krendl - Greece, Bulgaria, Crimea, Turkey, Caucasus
Galium album subsp. pycnotrichum (Heinr. Braun) Kren - from Poland south to Greece and Turkey
Galium album subsp. suberectum (Klokov) Michalk - Carpathian Mountains of western Ukraine

Lady's Bedstraw (Galium verum) or in Bulgarian Жълто Еньовче is an amazing herb.
The usable part is flowering overhead (Herba Galii aparinis).
The herb can be applied externally to recurrent furunculosis (boils) and secondary infected skin rashes. The powdered herb is sprinkled on wounded surfaces and provides prophylactic action against secondary infection.
The herb is also used in Bulgarian herb medicine in cases of ascites accompanying liver cirrhosis as well as inflammatory swelling in acute articular rheumatism. The herb is also used in inflammatory processes of the urinary tract, especially the bladder.

The herb grows all over Bulgaria up to 1,000 m above sea level.

English lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) or in Bulgariam just Лавандула is one of the favorite Bulgarian herbs.

It is grown as an essential oil plant mainly in the sub-Balkan fields, Northeastern and Eastern Bulgaria and in places in Western Bulgaria. It is widely cultivated in southern Europe.

Usable parts (herb); Lavender color (Flores Lavandulae); Lavender oil (Oleum lavandulae). Content: The fresh colors contain 0.5-1% essential oil, and freshly dried ~ 3%, 12% tanning substances, sugars, anthocyanins, waxes, organic acids, mineral salts, etc.

Lavender is used to stimulate digestion and as a spasmolytic agent. It can be used against moths in connection with its insecticidal action. The essential oil is used to alleviate neuralgic pain.

Queen Anne's Lace (Daucus carota) or in Bulgarian Див морков и срамниче is a really useful herb!
It can be used as a rich source of Vitamin A. It can be used also for: stomach problems, painkiller in high doses, antiparasitic and uterus problems!
It's a common plant here in Varna, Bulgaria. It can be mostly found near the places where Yarrow grows.

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) or in Bulgarian Бял Равнец is one of the most used herbs in our bulgarian herbal medicine.
The herb can be used for: menstruation problems, leucorrhea, ulcer and gastritis.
It's a common plant here in Bulgaria, it can be found almost everywhere.
