Gardening is any way that humans and nature come together with the intent of creating beauty. - Tina James
Edible Flowers: Violets

Sweet violets, violas, and pansies are annual or perennial flowers that are mostly grown for their beauty. However, sweet violets can be candied or used as an ingredient in teas, cakes, and syrups. You can also use violet flowers to make vinegars, butters, spreads, and jellies.
How to Grow and Care for Lilacs

Classic spring-flowering shrubs, lilacs produce abundant, colorful flower clusters with a sweet, memorable fragrance. Lilacs are hardy, easy-care plants, with scented blooms in a range of hues, depending on the variety.
Peas, Please!

Early spring is pea planting time -- for sweet peas that is. Also called English peas and shelling peas, their seeds can be planted as soon as the soil can be worked. By late spring to early summer you'll be enjoying the delicious harvest.
Preparing a New Garden Plot

Eliminating weeds and getting the soil ready for your flowers and vegetables are important first steps in growing a successful garden. Time spent in preparation reduces the time you'll have to spend maintaining and weeding your garden over the course of the growing season.
Stinkbug

Various species of this pest are found throughout the United States; they are more common in the South. Stinkbugs are shield-shaped, give off an unpleasant odor when crushed, and feed on okra, squash, beans, tomatoes, and a number of other plants.
Edible Landscaping - Pruning Brambles

In general, growing berries is straightforward; however, pruning them can be a head-scratching proposition. This is especially true for brambles, such as raspberries, blackberries, and black raspberries. When do you prune? How do you prune? Let's go through the basics.
Growing Mint

The mint family offers a tremendous diversity of refreshing scents and flavors. Plus, bumblebees and other pollinators are attracted to the delicate flowers. Just be mindful of where you plant this vigorous herb.

Together with Victory Seed Company

Now home gardeners have an easy-to-grow bunching onion (also known as a green onion) that is an All-America Selections Winner. Warrior grows quickly and thus matures early, producing a very uniform crop of slender, crisp onion stalks that are easy to harvest and clean. Can't get to your harvest? No worries as Warrior will hold up in the garden longer than similar varieties that were grown as comparisons in the trials. Warrior can be used raw to add texture, flavor, and color to all kinds of dishes or they are delicious grilled whole as part of a grilled vegetable platter or entrée accompaniment. Add a stand of these to your backyard (or front yard!) this year and enjoy homegrown green onions in your kitchen this summer. 1 gram (about 200 seeds) for $2.95.
