Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Bird on a Wire') |
Have Knick Knack |
This yellow one was seeded by the birds on the powerline, near as I can tell. I didn't plant it. I need to move it - it's right behind another yellow one.
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Wine Red') |
Have Knick Knack Veggie Garden Perennials Z5 |
This a robust unregistered daylily - I've divided it many times and given it away. Originally planted by the back porch, it's also under the kitchen window, on the west side of the grinder side of the KK garden, and under the black elderberry outside the veggie garden. The original one needs to be divided again.
Lilac (Syringa vulgaris 'Purple Queen') |
Have Knick Knack |
NOID Made up name. From Jody. Opens deep purple, fades to lilac. This one has done the best of all the starts Jody gave me way back in the early 90's. It's happy, healthy and spreading.
Lily (Lillium 'Red') |
Have Knick Knack |
This is a seedling from either Cancun or Barcelona. Bloomed in '18
Peony (Paeonia 'Warm Blush') |
Have Knick Knack |
NOID - made up name. This is a bird offering under the smokebush. 2019: Bloomed - it's a semi-double, lovely cream color with pale pink blush and rose anthers. Quite nice. |
||
Tall Bearded Iris (Iris 'Dark Falls') |
Have Front Bank Here & There Knick Knack |
NOID. Made up name Front Bank - by the plum tree (#1) H&T - Out in the pasture (#2), before it got moved from the Front (#3) KK - I dug most of these up and moved them to the pasture. There are still some behind the obelisk. They keep spreading here. (#4) |
||
Five-Leaf Chocolate Vine (Akebia quinata) |
Have Knick Knack |
This guy is still alive and climbing up the obelisk. Yay! I should get one more to really make a statement here - I've tried about 10 different things on this obelisk and the only thing that ever looked great was morning glory one year.
Mediterranean Bells (Allium siculum) |
Have Greenhouse Knick Knack |
KK: I had about 3 planted here. Fall 2017 - planted around 10 more with Fox's Grape intermingled. Where Jelena used to be.
Blue Star (Amsonia hubrichtii) |
Have Knick Knack Z5 |
KK - By the obelisk - starting to spread and looking good! Z 5 - Near the lamb's ears - barely hanging on. |
||
Feather Reed Grass (Calamagrostis x acutiflora 'Karl Foerster') |
Have Knick Knack Windmill Grasses |
2 in the KK garden, 1 in the WM. 2022: The one on the grinder side in the KK is slowly coming back, so the gophers must not have gotten all the roots. The one on the other side is still a no-show. The one in the WM garden is there, if somewhat diminished. It was never very robust. 2019: The gophers have decimated both grasses in the KK garden. When I went to cut them back in the early spring, the whole thing came off in my hands - no roots. So sad. |
||
Camas Lily (Camassia quamash 'Blue Melody') |
Have Knick Knack Z5 |
|||
Clustered Bellflower (Campanula glomerata) |
Have Front Knick Knack |
|||
Clematis (Clematis tangutica My Angel®) |
Have Knick Knack |
Climbing up the lilac. | ||
Clematis (Clematis viticella 'Betty Corning') |
Have Knick Knack |
Not positive on this ID. I don't remember planting this, but that was before I kept track of things - it's under the wires.
Autumn Crocus (Colchicum 'Waterlily') |
Have Knick Knack |
Grinder side | ||
Threadleaf Coreopsis (Coreopsis verticillata 'Moonbeam') |
Have Knick Knack |
|||
Red Twig Dogwood (Cornus sericea) |
Have Aspen Corner Here & There Knick Knack Native |
Native. This is turning up everywhere. Trying to get it gone from most everywhere other than the aspen garden and maybe the corner bank. The one in the KK is too big for me to dig up, so it's staying too. |
||
Smoketrees (Cotinus coggygria) |
Have Knick Knack |
I finally got the witch hazel moved out of there - fall 2017. I love this smokebush and it looks so much better already getting that other thing out of there!
Daphne 'Somerset' |
Have Knick Knack |
So gorgeous! This thing reblooms and still smells wonderful. 2021: This thing has gotten ginormous! |
||
Coneflower (Echinacea Sombrero® Flamenco Orange) |
Have Knick Knack |
2020: Planted grinder side front. |
