December 2, 2023: Winterized (Divided large clump of tubers, prepped for winter, dusted with cinnamon, in garage storage with Govee temperature monitor.)
May 29, 2024: Transplanted (In newest dahlia space, new 2nd Johnson garden by NorthWest fence, two tubers.)

Labyrinth, Ordered from Swan Island Dahlias Sep 26, 2022. Received. New to me in 2023.

I've read that it is slow to bloom. Have started it indoors and there is a sprout on the tuber as of April 28.
April 24, 2023: Potted up (Tuber received from Swan Island today, and planted. Currently indoors until it sprouts significantly. May take a cutting or two.)
May 31, 2023: Transplanted (Planted sprouted plant at PG Johnson on the west end of the third full row -- row three, near the Clary Sage.)
July 23, 2023: Bloomed

October 25, 2023: Bloomed (Had two blooms in mid-October photos. A keeper. Exotic style, beautiful purple, carmine pink, blush coral shadings.)
November 24, 2023: Maintenance performed (Dug up tubers on a cold day at Johnson. Smaller tubers. Will give it more attention in 2024. Gorgeous blooms definitely worth attention in 2024.)
April 2, 2024: Seeds sown (Planted first of two tubers, part of Day 1, first batch of tubers started in the greenhouse. Seemed to have survived winter storage OK.)
April 16, 2024: Plant emerged (Yay! Will explore taking a cutting.)
May 22, 2024: Transplanted (Planted good size plant in backyard SE garden near two new D.A. Windemere roses. Used new rebar staking.)

Maks Michelle, Dahlia Season 2022, from new 2022 Tuber

New cultivar by Labough Dahlias, new for 2021. Bloomed well. Plant stalks are slender, yet sturdy enough to hold the lacinated style of blooms that are quite jazzy to see when several are in full bloom. A lovely newer dahlias to enjoy.

Three strong plants in 2023. Were mostly well staked. MUST have good staking, and will reward with excellent blooms.

April 29, 2022: Seeds sown (Planting in trays indoors with light to "wake up" the dahlias)
May 10, 2022: Plant emerged
June 3, 2022: Transplanted (At Johnson PG.)
August 29, 2022: Bloomed (Started to grow in small pot as of May 16, 2022. Planted at Johnson. Many blooms on plant. Quite a beauty. Prolific.)
April 16, 2023: Potted up (Potted up 3+ tubers that seemed to overwinter well. Hoping for beautiful lacinated blooms like last year. )
July 28, 2023: Bloomed (First big bloom on one of two or three plants in the Dahlia garden, Johnson Project Grow 2023)
November 20, 2023: Maintenance performed (Dug up three dahlia clumps on a cold day at Johnson. In process for preparing for storage, overwintering.)
December 1, 2023: Winterized (Tubers prepped for winter, in garage storage with Govee temperature monitor.)
December 10, 2023: Winterized (Divided and packaged in vermiculte for 2024. Storing in our insulated garage for the winter with a temp monitor. Will add heat if it gets too cold.

New to me in 2023, Sakura Fubuki Dahlia ordered from Old House Dahlias in Oregon. Good prices. Did not see this bloom in 2023. Will check again in 2024 to see if the tuber I have and grew in 2023 produces flowers in 2024.

NOTE: long growing period Advertised as "Extra strong plants."
Height: 36 – 48" Spacing: 18-24 in.
Bloom Season: Summer into Mid to Late Fall Flower color: Pink

Features serrated and semi-frilled florets that are white at the base and turn deep pink near the edges. Some yellow shows near the central petals. Good height for medium size borders and fresh-cut flower arrangements.

November 22, 2023: Maintenance performed (Seemed like it did not grow, except I dug out a tuber with this label in the corner of the garden by Thomas Edison in 2023. Unsure what kind of blooms it made. Looking for photos.)
December 10, 2023: Winterized (I have two tubers now divided and packaged in vermiculte for 2024. Storing in our insulated garage for the winter with a temp monitor. Will add heat if it gets too cold. )

Reviewed as one of the best fimbriated dahlias.
Creamy-white color of fringed, twisted petals split at their tip that creates a frilly sea anemone effect. Bloom 6-8 in. wide (15-20 cm), resemble sea anemones with their twisted petals split at their tip. They hold up as a tall plant, not top-heavy even in wet weather.

April 2, 2024: Seeds sown (Potted up the first one or two of several tubers, part of the first batch of tubers started in the greenhouse. Seemed to have survived winter storage more or less OK. One tuber had some mold. Others were better. Necks tend to be thin and prone to weakness.)
April 13, 2024: Plant emerged (Tuber with a weak neck is growing vigorously. Other tuber is growing. )
May 13, 2024: Transplanted (Planted two of the most vigorous plants of 4 potted tubers growing, in Sunflower Row (south facing) of home garden, earliest dahlia planting ever in our zone! It is 50 degrees or higher for the next 10 days in Michigan,)
May 26, 2024: Transplanted (Planted growing plant in sunflower row by backyard fence, south. Hawks home gardens.)
