Notes: Dainty white, small plant, blooms early summer to early fall. Fine textured foliage.
Best tidied in early spring before active growth begins. Good in - Rock/Alpine, Border Edging, Herb Gardens, Container Planting

gray-green foliage from mid-summer to fall. Plant it near a pathway or seating area or in a container so that you can conveniently run your fingers through its leaves, releasing its wonderfully minty scent. Calamint is quite drought tolerant and makes a wonderful edging and rock garden plant. The Marvelette Series is a big improvement on older varieties, with a dense, compact habit and earlier, larger and more numerous blooms. It also blooms the first year from seed! Sow seeds indoors, 6 to 8 weeks before transplanting out into the garden. Deer resistant. Perennial. Summer to fall blooming. Height: 8" to 10".
Seed life: 2 to 3 years.

New seed from Happy Green Shop. Sowing with sand and small gravel, adding free draining soil to planting areas, new ChipDrop bed.

Researched that Sterntaler is a longer blooming Tickseed and has the reddish-brown center of the native annual, but in a perennial with continuous bloom over the summer when deadheaded. Does well with heat and sun, as long as it has well drained soil that is drought resistant/tolerant.
February 11, 2023: Seeds sown (Direct seeding in amended soil, sand, gravel, well draining amendments. Planted all the seeds in the front yard, full sun. Added stones, sand some pebbles to see if it helps germination.

Sedums and Succulents
Crassothonna capensis 'Ruby Necklace' Ruby Necklace, aka String of Pickels. NOTE: Moderate stress (direct sun, drought, or cool temperatures of about 50F) will turn the succulent leaves to magenta . There is also fine, white fuzz that grows in the crevices of stems and leaves. (Look close, not mealybugs) Flowers are yellow.

Stem cuttings to propagate. It is a tender succulents, so bring indoors to grow as it needs good sunlight, drainage, and infrequent water. Water enough for water to run out the bottom of the pot, then wait for the soil to fully dry before watering again. Avoid wet feet.
