Onion (Allium 'Guardsman') |
Have New plants and seeds Veggies, Tomatoes |
New to Garden . org and new to me in 2022. Descriptions of this onion cultivar describe it as a cross between a bunching onion and a bulb onion. It produces the shape of a bunching onion with a strong root system, larger top, and the mildness of a bulb onion. Guardsman is recommended by Johnny's Selected Seeds and MIGardener as a scallion for overwintering in the north. MIGardener says it will be the earliest bunching onion in the garden—mild flavor with long tops. Perfect cooked into recipes or sliced as a thin garnish. 50 days. |
