'Abe Lincoln' is a very old commercial heirloom, developed and released by the Buckbee Seed Company in 1923. Indeterminate, regular leaf plants that produce medium to large (6-12 oz.), round and oblate, bright red fruit with very good, old-fashioned tomato flavor. Perfect salad and canner tomato, which was donated to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) in 1963 (PI 648767).

Introduced by the W.H. Buckbee Seed Company in 1923 as a true-to-seed crossbred tomato, the Abe Lincoln tomato has become a favorite of home gardens and farmers alike. An indeterminate variety maturing in 87 days, it bears beautiful round red fruits in clusters of 6-9 weighing 8-12 oz each. A favorite slicer variety, producing in late summer, it is known for its distinctive sweet and flavorful taste. The fruit is meaty and resists cracking with heavy blooms producing more than enough for the whole family. The plant is recognized for its bronze-green leaves and clusters of dark red fruit that bring the tomato taste that most hybrids are missing these days.

'Amish Paste' is an old family heirloom tomato from Amish farmers in Medford, Wisconsin. The history of this tomato goes back to the 1870s. Tom Hauch of 'Heirloom Seeds' received the seeds of this beautiful and prolific variety from the Amish who lived near Lancaster in Pennsylvania and shared them with 'Landis Valley Museum' in Lancaster. It was donated to the Germplasm Resources Information Network (GRIN)* in 2010 from the USA (the accession number for this variety is G 33010).
'Amish Paste' is an indeterminate, regular, and wispy leaf tomato plant with an outstanding yield of red, medium to large (4-9oz./120-250g) plum-shaped fruits. It is not the typical paste tomato, fruits are juicier and contain more seeds than most paste-type tomatoes. The flavor is well balanced, with a rich, complex aroma. The first ripe fruits can be enjoyed in the middle of the season, about 78-80 days after transplant.

*Germplasm Resource Information Network (GRIN) documents plant, animal, and microbial collections through informational pages and searchable databases. GRIN is operated by the National Germplasm Resources Laboratory in Beltsville, MD, USA.

The earliest origins of this tomato are hazy, but it was discovered to be grown by Amish communities in Wisconsin back in the 1870's and has remained in seed production ever since. The tomatoes are deep red and flavorful, with meaty flesh and few seeds. An exceptional tomato for canning and sauces.

Anne Texas 2022

'Ananas Noir' A.K.A. Black Pineapple tomato. The name of this Belgian tomato, introduced by Pascal Moreau in 2005, is French for black pineapple. Large, sprawling, regular leaf plant that yields heavy crop of 1 to 1 1/2 lb., round, dark-purple, fruit with green shoulders. Interior color is a tie-dye like mix of pink, red, green yellow colors. Loaded with an abundance of rich and delicious, full-bodied, sweet & smokey flavors with a whollop of acidity. Try this tomato in a salad with other colors. Also makes a delicious, rich tomato sauce.

Belgium

Developed by Pascal Moreau, a horticulturist from Belgium. The multi-colored, smooth fruit (green, yellow, and purple mix) weighs about 1½ lbs. The flesh is bright green with deep red streaks. Superb flavor, being both sweet and smoky with a hint of citrus. Heavy yield!

A classic favorite. Better Boy holds a Guinness Book of World Records championship for yields (nearly 350 pounds of tomatoes from a single plant over a single season!). Awarded an All-America Selection many years ago, Better Boy continues to be the tomato of choice for many home gardeners. Indeterminate, regular leaf plant produces big yields of 10-16 oz., bright-red, juicy yet meaty, round fruits continuing strong all season long. Superior disease resistance. Resistant to Verticillium Wilt, Fusarium Wilt Race 1, Nematodes, Alternaria, and Gray Leaf Spot.

A hybrid between the Teddy Jones heirloom tomato variety and an unknown red variety developed by plant breeder John Peto.

Grew in 2020 & again in 2022 from saved seeds.

This spectacular heirloom tomato was discovered in 1990. originally from Polk County, MN. Our TomatoFest organic seeds produce big, sprawling, indeterminate, regular-leaf tomato plants that yield moderate to large crops of 1-2 lb. rib-shouldered bi-colored beefsteak tomatoes with gold flesh with beautiful red streaks running throughout. As fruits ripen they have a rainbow appearance: greens on the shoulder, yellow, orange, gold in the middle, and red on the blossom end. Fruit often has dynamic red splotches inside and on the bottom. Very juicy and fruity sweet. Good disease resistance. A late producer. Great for slicing thick into sandwiches or salads.

2023 Chicagoland annual plant swap - Ellen

Indeterminate, regular leaf plant produces good yields over an extended period, of outstandingly beautiful, 2″ long, cherry tomatoes, "blushed," with gold with red coloring. Exceptionally wonderful, well-balanced, tropical fruity flavors reminiscent of pineapple. Flavors are best if harvested when a pink blush starts to appear over the yellow background. Tall vines with the weight of heavy crops will need staking.

An elongated, plump, bullet-shaped cherry that is large enough to slice, yet still small enough for snacking out of hand. Radiant golden fruits are drizzled with ruby streaks. Blush came in second place for its intriguingly complex flavor during our in-house tomato tasting. Indeterminate plants produce 2 ½ inch long, 1 ¼ inch wide tomatoes.

2-3 oz. fruit, Very unique variety. Beautiful fruits start off green with dark green stripes and striking indigo-colored splashes. It ripens brick-red with green stripes and lots of black anthocyanins giving this a very beautiful multi-colored finish. Very good production. Early-mid season. Very good, sweetly rich, and juicy flavor. Great ability to hang on the vine ripe and stay edible better than most.Good post-harvest shelf life. Slow to break down and extended eating quality.

Tolstyi Dzhek is a high-yielding tomato variety suitable for both open ground and greenhouses. It is a compact, determinate (bush) tomato with plants reaching a height of around 2 feet. The tomatoes are large, red, and have a flat-round shape. They are known for their fragrant, sweet, and very dense flesh, weighing between 3.5 to 10 ounces.

This Russian commercial variety is highly regarded for its exceptional flavor. It offers a balanced tangy tomato taste without being tart. Eating these tomatoes will remind you of the delightful flavors of summertime.

Tolstyi Dzhek is also known for its super early production. The plants bear clusters of perfectly red orbs, ripening mostly at the same time. This characteristic makes it an excellent choice for those interested in making sauces or for those who prefer to have a bountiful harvest without the need for prolonged waiting. The tomatoes are meaty and packed with flavor, making them a desirable option for various culinary uses. ~ants

Tomatoes Galore Swap 2024 - BetNC - Seed harvested in 2023 from plant grown from seed bought from a commercial vendor in 2020. Plant is 14-16" indeterminate heirloom OP (1945) with rugose leaves and a DTM of 45; it is VERY productive, producing scads of 1" red globe cherries. It's so VERY productive, the sheer weight of all its fruit requires it to be staked during production.

Tomatoes Galore Swap 2024 - dave - Victory Seed Company, packed for 2024.

A true dwarf tomato, growing to only 6-12". Bears very nicely for such a small plant. Fruits are cherry-sized, and red, and are some of the earliest fruit you'll ever harvest from a tomato. Tiny Tim is a popular variety for container growing or very small spaces. Introduced in 1945.
