N.S. UK 2021 EARLY SPRING SEED EXTRAVAGANZA #1 - 2024 - Mimistime - Outsidepride 2023 African native. The original source of an Egyptian confection that evolved into today's marshmallows. The roots and velvety leaves have been eaten as a vegetable for centuries, often fried with onion and garlic. 3-4 foot stems of 1-2 inch, white-to-pink flowers are reminiscent of hollyhocks, to which this plant is related. Also renowned in various folk cultures for its medicinal properties. Not sure if it returned this spring 2022. Zones 3-9. |

E.C. Lubbock TX 12/16/2022 Very early, high-quality sort. Dense, solid heads are very spherical, reaching 5-7 inches in diameter, and weights of 3-5 pounds. Plants are very compact relative to the size of the heads, allowing closer spacing than some varieties. Fine for cole slaw, stir-fries, and other fresh uses. Not usually considered an excellent storage type. One of the earliest types we sell, and popular since at least the 1920s. 65 days. |

SSS Game - 2023 Also known as Klip Dagga, and a member of the mint family, Lion's Ear is native to Southern Africa and is used as a folk medicine among the native peoples for treating numerous ailments, and has shown some promise in studies. Tall, the evergreen tropical plant produces loads of stunning peachy-orange flowers. Caution: this plant is a mild narcotic. Purchased 2022 I thought these were unsuccessful & sowed different seeds in the same container but they did grow but did not get to bloom before frost. I brought them in for the winter after all but one stem got hit by frost. That one stem bloomed 11-20-23. |
