EARLY SPRING SEED EXTRAVAGANZA #1 - 2024 - DraDiana 2022 seed A fast-growing tree, Yates can grow almost anywhere due to its tolerance to heat and cold. This persimmon ripens at the end of summer in late August, early September, produces buttery-soft fruit, and has a sweet flavor similar to that of an apricot. In locations outside of a persimmon's preferred growing zone, stratify the seeds before planting. To do so, wrap the seeds in damp paper towels and place in a plastic bag or glass jar. Store in a refrigerator or cold cellar for at least three months. 4-6 years to maturity. Zones 4-9. |
