To use as a groundcover in front flowerbed. Possibly along with Ipomoea indica. Helianthus debilis is a plant I would like to grow somewhere, even if the front garden bed weren't available.

I planted this next to the garage. It grew very large and flowered a lot in the fall I put half a bag of mulch on it in the fall, and it came back from the roots after the winter (which had a 17 degree freeze). I hope now that it is well established it will start blooming earlier this year (2023). It needs almost no care; we just water it sometimes during the growing season and cut the dead branches down to the ground after the coldest part of winter is over and the branches are no longer protecting the roots from cold. Touching it gives my husband and me a very itchy rash.
