They really are a tropical perennial, grown as an annual in colder climates. I have dug up my 8 plants that I have grown from seed and they are overwintering in my cool bedroom, in a sunny window and additional light. They are growing well. I am hoping for bloom next year.
Update ~ I have never seen any blooms on these plants. I have replanted them this spring. There are only 3 left. If they don't bloom this year, I'll probably just dig them up. 😞
