The Top Recommended Varieties of Heavenly Bamboos

Dwarf Nandina (Nandina domestica 'Fire Power')

My photo was taken on the south side of our house, so the color really comes out. The Fire Power nandinas planted on the north side of the house do not turn this red.

Dwarf Nandina (Nandina domestica 'Filamentosa')

Makes for a colorful year-round container plant in my zone 7 garden.

Heavenly Bamboo (Nandina domestica 'Royal Princess')

Heavenly Bamboo (Nandina domestica) 'Royal Princess' is a multiseason ornamental shrub. Pale pink to white blossoms appear in early summer. Autumn brings heavy red berries and orange-red foliage. 'Royal Princess' grows 6 to 8 feet tall. It has not been at all invasive in my zone 7a garden, and has been a relatively slow-grower. It does well in part to full sun.
