I have 2 babys breath plants that are about 5 years old. As the summer progresses they are looking brown and worn out. Should I prune them and if so when? Can I split them? |
Perennial Baby's Breath (Gypsophila paniculata) can be kept neat and compact if you prune them every 4-6 weeks during the summer months. Pruning encourages new growth and keeps the plants from getting leggy. It's a little too late in the year to cut yours back. Wait until growth begins in the spring and then trim them down by about a third. If you prune again in the summer, you'll encourage lots of flowers all season long. Enjoy your garden! |
I have a baby's breath that's not been cared for very well. It's about 4/5feet tall with lots of stems, how do I get it under control? |
