I transplanted this from my grandfathers after he passed away. It is some kind of annual. It dies and comes back every spring and it always comes back taller. It does not have any kind of flower either. It is not an elephant ear plant. I have asked tons of people and no one knows. Please help!

Yes, it is a Paulonia tomentosa. In climates where winters are warmer, it will grow normally, as a tree. But it is too cold where you are, and it dies back each winter and grows from the ground each spring. It won't ever flower where you live, but it sure is a fun plant!

Pardon my ignorance but where is the midwest?
I looked at a map of the US and see that you might live any of several states including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and/or Wisconsin. Thank you.
