When should I trim my 2 dwarf Japanese Maple trees? My new home has 2 and they look very shaggy.

The best time to prune is winter or early spring while they're dormant. I usually prune in February/March before they start to bud to reduce the number of suckers.

A photo would help. Japanese Maples are not usually pruned but you can gently shape.
