What is my plant - Knowledgebase Question

This is a drought tolerant plant/bush/hedge. Relatives gave it to me. They cut their plants back, I stuck the cuttings in the dirt and it grew. If I don't water it often enough the leaves will shrivel up a bit, but if I water it once every couple of weeks, it maintains a nice "plump" green leaf. They have some that are 8' tall and the trunk of it 5" in diameter.

Maybe Portuclacaria afra?

It's my experience that we should never take the first answer offered. Remember I added a ? to my answer. Why not wait until someone more experienced comes along with a positive answer.
