I planted some dwarf lilies in my yard this March; will they flower this year? The woman at the store said they would, but most of the articles I've read say that perennials won't bloom in the first year. Which is true? |
It depends on what kind species of lilies they are, and how mature the bulbs are. They may well bloom for you -- I've seen it happen. It's true that most of the perennials you can buy or order don't blossom the first year, because the plants are immature. This is preferred, since it's easier for a young plant to get established than it is for a mature plant to undergo the trauma of transplant. Hope this helps! |
