Is it too late to prune the butterfly bush? It is late April, and it is quite tall and stalky. The stalks are so heavy that the plant is falling over.

It's still early enough in the season to prune your butterfly bush. It will respond with lush, green growth and will flower for you right on schedule. Go ahead and prune it back. Your plant will recover in a few weeks and begin blooming when the weather remains warm. Enjoy your beautiful plant.
