Fruit set is dependent upon pollination and on decent weather when the flowers are open. You didn't mention the types of trees you're growing but apples and pears need two varieties in close proximity for good cross pollination and good fruit set. If you can find the names of your fruit trees and submit them to us in a new question, we'll be able to tell you whether or not you have the right kinds of fruit trees for your growing region and whether or not they need companions for cross pollination.
