| There is quite a long list of plants suitable for planting near swimming pools. These plants have smooth branches, foliage and flowers so as not to harm swimmers or sunbathers, and they produce very little litter. Most have a tropical look to enhance the poolside landscape. Here's a partial list: Dracaena, Ensete (banana), Ferns of all kinds, palms, Schefflera, Camellia, Fatsia japonica, Pittosporum, Agapanthus, Canna, Colocasia (Elephant's ear), Kniphofia (red hot poker), Strelitzia (Bird-of-Paradise), Hemerocallis (daylily), and Rhaphiolepsis indica.
