I have ants in my garden. I am going to begin placing seeds of oregano and basil straight into my garden. Will the ants EAT or AFFECT the seeds/germination in anyway? I need to know if they will affect the seeds in anyway. If I put over and out pellets through the soil of my garden, will that also affect the growth of my seeds?

The standard variety of black or red ants won't usually bother seeds but thatching or fire ants might. So, without knowing which kinds of ants you're dealing with I can't say for certain whether or not the ants will bother your seeds. If they do not cart off the seeds, their presence in the garden should not affect the germination of the seeds or the growth of the plants. I am not familiar with over and out pellets (is there a brand name??) so I don't know whether or not they are safe to use in a vegetable/herb garden. Check the product label to see if there are any restrictions or cautions regarding their use in food gardens. Good luck with your basil and oregano.
