Hey there.. I needed some advice on converting my patio into a mini-green house. so since its a completely enclosed patio.. there is not very much sunlight streaming in.. except during peak summer. .. i am guessing flourescent light fixtures attached in the patio would do the trick? if so my problem would be not having access dirctly about the plant to do that.. would it still be efficient?

Fluorescent lights are great for greenhouse growing. I use hooded shoplights - the kinds with chains attached so that you can raise and lower them as your plants grow. Use one warm white and one cool white bulb in each shoplight fixture and keep the lights only 2-3 inches above the tops of the plants. Most plants will need 12-14 hours of supplemental lighting per day to encourage healthy growth. Hope this information helps.
