| Floritam is an improved cultivar of St. Augustine and you can safely use a product such as Scotts Bonus S Weed and Feed for Southern Lawns if you follow label directions carefully. Or, you can avoid the use of weed and feed products on your Floratam lawns and promote a dense, healthy turf which will crowd out weeds. If you do all you can to develop a good, dense turf (regular mowing, deep infrequent watering and moderate fertilizing), over a year or two you will eliminate the vast majority of weeds in your turf.
