Im am a beginner when it comes to bulbs and the Spring of 2010 I had planted several Dahlias in my rock garden bed. I did not read up on the needed care of these bulbs and have left the bulbs in the ground still today of 2011. is there any possibility of saving these dahlia bulbs?

Dahlias should be dug in the fall but yours may surprise you and come up on schedule this coming spring. The major problem with leaving them in the ground over the winter months is if the soil remains too wet they will rot. Since you planted yours in a rock garden, I'll bet the soil is well draining. If so, your dahlia tubers will be okay. If the soil remained too wet, they won't poke their heads out of the ground this spring. Let's hope for the best!
